Getting used to hearing aids

Is the expectation that your hearing will be exactly as usual when you start using hearing aids? Nothing can replace two healthy ears without the sound experience being different. Therefore, the brain needs time to get used to it.

When you start using a hearing aid that OnDeMove Fricco or OnDeMove Tyr At first, all the everyday sounds can feel overwhelming. Sounds that have gradually disappeared as hearing loss progresses suddenly become clear again. The brain therefore needs time to get used to these sounds again.

We recommend that you use a lower volume for the first time. After that, you can gradually increase the volume so that your brain gradually gets used to the new soundscape.

Initially, it is also an advantage to accept that you need help to amplify your hearing. Then you will have already come a long way in the process and will be more receptive to getting used to your hearing aid.

When you have hearing loss, your brain forgets many sounds. It could be the sound of someone walking on gravel, a windshield wiper against the car window, birds chirping in the forest or your own voice. Sounds that are natural to two healthy ears, but that you now experience more clearly again. Give your brain time to get used to. We dare to promise that it's worth it.
